Handmade Monday #410
/Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s Handmade Monday.
Handmade Monday is our creative link up where bloggers can link up their craft tutorials, projects, recipes etc to inspire us all.
I don’t think I’ve shared this bag here, only over on my Instagram. It’s my new favourite shopping bag! The most 70’s of 70’s fabric possible!
A few weeks before Christmas my brother popped round and brought me a bundle of fabric that turned out to be the cover of an old camp bed mattress. We called them zed beds because they folded up in a Z shape when not in use. The old bed had fallen apart and the foam mattress stuffing had crumbed but the fabric was in pretty good shape. No fading or sun damage at all really. It was a real blast from the past because I slept on that bed many times when I was growing up and family were visiting.
I gave it a good wash and then managed to make 2 bags from the fabric, one for me and one for my brother. Yellow and brown is not a colour combo I usually go for but I make an exception for this and it’s turned out to be a great talking point. People in the shop have asked about it a few times already!
Let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday.

Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.
My husband and I have been married for over 30 years which is probably why we don’t do a lot of Valentine’s day, however we do like to mark it with a little something. I’m loving the idea of heart shaped chocolate chip cookies like these shared by Raquel from Organized Island. they’d be a perfect gift and he’d have to shared them with me too, right? Win win!
I think most people who knit will have seen the “Sophie” scarf which has been everywhere online in the last few months. Maya from Little Treasures has created a pattern for a crochet scarf with a similar vibe. Absolutely perfect for using up yarn scraps or if you need a quick project for a gift (even if that gift is for yourself!)
Parsimonious Decor Darling shared how to make these beautiful garden planters, the tiles around the top make them extra special. I will enjoy coming back in the summer to see them full of vegetables, herbs and maybe flowers.
There’s an extra feature this week because I struggle to narrow down my choices sometimes and I was blown away by this gorgeous idea from South House Designs to make beautiful hearts from old picture frames. Isn’t that brillant?
Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.
A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social
HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.
At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
