Handmade Monday #405

Welcome to the first Handmade Monday of 2025. I hope you’ve all had a nice break and have lots of fun craft ideas swirling round your brain for this new year, I know I do.

Do you have a new year’s resolution? I’d like to make 2025 the year when I really get a grip of my pile of half finished projects. I have so many things that I’ve started and then put to one side. Some are barely begun and some are almost to the finish line! Don’t get me wrong, I love having a choice of things to work on when I get a minute but it would be nice to get a few more things completed.

My husband’s birthday is very close to Christmas which can be inconvenient, it certainly means getting organised with both Christmas and birthday gifts all at once. But the good thing about it is it gives us an opportunity to celebrate and do something nice just as all the Christmas and New Year things have wound down. This year we had been given vouchers for afternoon tea by our son so we took the chance to go. It was so lovely with lots of delicious food in a really beautiful setting.

afternoon tea

Afternoon tea is such a treat, it’s such a frivolous meal! We had ours quite early so instead of lunch but even then we didn’t manage it all and took a sizeable doggy bag home! The little pot with a lid in the photo is edible and was filled with a mousse - how cute it that? I had the standard afternoon tea and the birthday boy had what they call a “knight’s tea” which is more savouries - that was served on that miniature picnic table that you can see. We ending up mixing and matching and sharing it all anyway but it was nice to have a few different bits.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, now let’s take a look at the features from the previous Handmade Monday that was all the way back in 2024!!

  • Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.

This hot chocolate dip from Organized Island looks delicious. I confess to being a bit of a silly billy though - when I first looked at Requel’s beautiful photos I thought those were carrot slices ready to dip and thought that was a bit of an odd combo! Once I adjusted my glasses and looked properly it all made sense :-D

Filling the Jars has a whole load of creative ideas for journaling, ideal for people who don’t just want to write but are looking for something a bit different.

Carolyn from Flickensalat has been sharing her year long slow stitching project with us all through 2024, she’s created such a lovely mix of looks and styles including this pretty grid piece.

Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.

A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!

The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:

  • Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it

  • Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url

  • You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before

  • Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social

HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS

If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.

At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
